The Seventh Annual Spring Concert of the Rappahannock Choral Society will be held Mother’s Day weekend, May 13 and 14, at Chancellor High School, 6300 Harrison Road, in Fredericksburg. Show times are 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, and 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 14.
By popular request, the RCS is presenting a sequel to last spring’s “Music from the Movies,” It will include many songs you will recognize―“Hello Dolly,” “Mona Lisa,” “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Friendship,” and “Steam Heat,” with a solo performance on the rare and unusual tubo a vapore. In total, the concert will feature more than 15 songs from some of Hollywood’s finest films of all time.
Tickets are $5.00 for seniors (60+), $8.00 for adults, and free for children and students. Tickets are available at the door or in advance from any RCS member.
The 65-voice regional chorus is led by award-winning conductor and artistic director Linda Monner, and accompanied by former University of Mary Washington music instructor Marilla Haas, one of the area’s most accomplished pianists.
The Rappahannock Choral Society is a not-for-profit, audition-only, regional chorus in partnership with Spotsylvania County Parks and Recreation, a Partner in Education with Spotsylvania County Schools and a Partner in Community Service with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Department.
