Arturo Sandoval - Unearthing America’s Musical Treasures: The Library of Congress Project Concert @ Dodd Auditorium | Fredericksburg | Virginia | United States

Featuring: Arturo Sandoval Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra, the Suite from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash Broadway hit Hamilton, and several “unearthed” works including America’s first trumpet concerto!

Featured on NPR this past spring, Maestro Bartram and his team of national researchers have worked with the Library of Congress to unearth great orchestral works that have been forgotten over time – or never before performed. The Philharmonic will perform several of these works, all masterpieces with historical significance. Wow!
Rarer still will be the premiere of an unknown work from the early 19th century, now recognized to be America’s first concerto for trumpet and orchestra. To perform this work, we’re honored to feature legendary trumpeter Arturo Sandoval. Sandoval has been awarded 10 Grammy Awards, six Billboard Awards, and an Emmy Award.

Friends tickets go on sale Monday, Jan. 22, 2018.
General public sales begin Monday, Jan. 29, 20
